Today I am thankful for gift cards.
I used to think gift cards were a cop-out, a gift you got for someone when you didn't really care, unthoughtful. I still prefer to buy actual *gifts* for people, because I think it's more personal, but I see the appeal. And sometimes having the luxury to buy something you really like with gift money feels pretty awesome. Even if it's just a cup of coffee or a Jamba Juice.

Agreed - my bosses gave me a gift card the other day to Coffee Bean and for awhile, my coffee habit didn't seem so detrimental. ;) I will say though, I enjoy receiving them so much more than giving them too. I really can't explain the double standard.
ReplyDeleteI love gift cards, but only if they are to a place I really like. If I get one for, say, Bed Bath and Beyond (at this point) it's a pain because I never go there and don't have a need. But give me Nordstrom, Jamba or SBux? Gooooolden.
